#219 Henry Allison "Allison" Powers ( Mary Catherine "Mayme" SeylerEllen Catherine AllisonGeorge AllisonArchibald AllisonArchibald Allison )

Allison was born 28 Apr 1909 in Salona, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania. He died 16 Jan 1992 in Carrollton, Texas. He was cremated.

He left home at age 18 and joined the U.S. Army. He served a two year hitch at Hickam Field in Hawaii. He learned aircraft maintenance and he stayed in aviation the rest of his life. He worked for a while in Miami, Florida where he met and worked for Captain Eddie Rickenbacker. He worked on Amelia Earhart's planes. He also worked as the pilot for the Governor of Oklahoma.

His first marriage ended in a bitter divorce, but he married again to a woman who had been born and raised on a ranch in Texas. She could ride and shoot and made a perfect companion for him in his next job as a pilot for an oil company that was exploring the jungles of Colombia, South America.

At the time of Pearl Harbor, he was in South America for the company. The company recalled him. He arrived home safely but he lost all his belongings when the ship they were on was torpedoed in the Gulf of Mexico. After this job, they moved back to Texas and settled in Dallas, where Allison continued to work in the aircraft industry.

The family says he was cremated but a memorial plot exists for him at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Dallas, Dallas Co., Tezas.
