Marriage notes

They married 27 Dec 1825.

George was born 30 Nov 1799 in Pennsylvania. He died 1 Oct 1881 in Butler Co., Pennsylvania.

He is the son of Philip & Mary (Frieze) Daubenspeck. He is the brother of Anna Maria Daubenspeck who married William A. Barnhart, the son of Jacob.

George and his wife went to live in the cabin built abt. 1806 by his father on the original Daubenspeck homestead. Like many cabins, it was built with the corner over a natural spring so that the inhabitants could barricade themselves inside in the case of Indian attack. The 1850 Census shows them still there. This cabin was inhabited until 1874, when it was torn down and replaced with a more modern home by George's son, George. That home is still standing.
