He served with Co. K, 134th Pennsylvania Infantry.

Either Henry W. Barnhart or his nephew, Henry N. Barnhart, was likely the Henry Barnhart who served on the jury that convicted Samuel Mohawk of the murder of Mrs. James Wigton and her five children in 1843. The trial created a sensation and several attempts were made to lynch Samuel but the law managed to hold onto him until he was convicted and executed.
