Cyrus was born 14 Jan 1851 in Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 29 May 1937 in Greensburg, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in Union Cemetery, Greensburg, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.

He inherited the 100 acre farm from his father and grandfather that includes the original homestead of the Johann Wilhelm settlement.

Cyrus never married.
