Abraham was born 8 Sep 1791 in Hempfield Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He was baptised 2 Oct 1791. He died 29 May 1871 in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in St. John's Union Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.
He was baptized by Johann Wilhelm Weber; his sponsors were Philip & Margaretha Kuntz.
Abraham may have spent some of his younger years up in Butler Co., Pennsylvania helping his older brothers open the new land. Rudolph, Phillip and Daniel were all homesteaders near Chicora. His uncle, Jacob, was already there with a large family. While there's no official record of Abraham being there, a biography of his grandson, Louis B. Shupe has the following passage. It is found in Biog. and Hist. Cyclopedia of Westmoreland County (1890) pp.509-510.
His maternal grandfather, Abraham Barnhart, was born and reared in Butler County, this State, but in early life removed to Mt. Pleasant township where he died on the farm now owned by the subject of this sketch.
Abraham wasn't born in Butler Co., but the fact that family lore associates him with it at all probably is indicative of some time spent there.

Hannah was born 8 Oct 1795 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. She died 6 Sep 1861 in Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. She was buried in St. John's Union Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.
She is the daughter of John & Phelopena Hugus from near Mt. Pleasant, Pennsylvania. After her father died, he left Abraham and Hannah "54 acres of land which I purchased from Frederick Bauders, lying adjoining my old place, on the opposite side of Brush Run." This property lay about one and a quarter miles east of Mt. Pleasant Twp.
