However, it also has him born in 1818, which is after the birth date of the fifth child, Jacob, and inconsistent with the birth date of the sixth child, Elizabeth. I've moved his birth date to abt. 1816 to compensate for this and take advantage of the gap in the birth years.

Rachel was born 1818. She died 14 Mar 1897.
[Barnhart/Warter] identifies her as the same Rachel Hemphill who is the daughter of John & Elizabeth (Barnhart) Hemphill. It then notes that other sources identify her as the daughter of Phillip & Elizabeth (Rice) Hemphill. I find the former unconvincing given the birth years of the other children of John & Elizabeth. The latter may be possible.
