#59293 David George Barnhart ( William A. Barnhart • Jacob Barnhart • Jacob Bernhardt • Casper Bernhardt◊ )
David was born 6 Jun 1833. He died 2 Apr 1906 in Greece City, Pennsylvania.
About 1862, David George Barnhart was drafted for service in the Civil War. With a family of two children and another on the way, he paid the $300 option to have a replacement. His cousin (first cousin on the Daubenspeck side, third cousin once removed on the Barnhart side), William Barnhart Daubenspeck, volunteered to go in his place and was killed. David changed his middle name to William, using that for the rest of his life.
∞ David married Elizabeth Jane Shakely
