In 1930 she shows as a boarder in York, Pennsylvania, working as a teacher.

In 1940 she was a teacher in a private school. Pauline, also a teacher, is listed as her partner on the census.

An unsourced obituary says:

...A graduate of Lock Haven High School and Lock Haven Teachers College, now Lock Haven University, she earned a master's degree in education from Columbia University.

She retired in 1972 from teaching at Girard College in Philadelphia and moved back to the family home in Salona.

She served as a volunteer at the Salona Senior Center from 1973 to 1991 and was a member of the Friends of the Ross Library.

An artist and a poet, Miss Knapp had several exhibits of her art works in Philadelphia before her retirement and also had an art exhibit at the Ross Library several years ago.

She wrote "The History of Salona" for the Clinton County Historical Society.

Surviving are her companion of 40 years, Frances K. Wasse, and three nephews.

Charlotte was in a relationship with first #68637 Pauline F. Roffe.

Pauline was born Abt 1898 in Pennsylvania.
