Norman was born Abt 1853 in Berlin, Brothersvalley Twp., Somerset Co., Pennsylvania.
In 1877, he went to Iowa to practice dentistry. He then went to Medical School at the University of Iowa. He was a physician and surgeon in Peoria and Clyde, Iowa and finally in Collins, Iowa.
