[M] #22492 Henry William Sindorf ( Susanna TurneyAnna Elizabeth MechlingJohn Theobald "Dewalt" MechlingDiebold "Theobald" MechlingDiebold MechlingMartin Mechling )

Henry was born 10 Jul 1825 in Greensburg, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 22 Jan 1897 in Bagdad, Santa Rosa Co., Florida. He was buried in Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Santa Rosa Co., Florida.

Henry has disappeared from his parents' census records by the 1840 census.

A Henry William Sindorf shows up on the 1850 Census of Santa Rosa Co., Florida working as a carpenter. He's single and living with W. H. Wisdom, also a carpenter and also from Pennsylvania. There's no direct evidence that this is the same person but there are few other candidates in the United States and we know that Henry is still alive.

He's still there in 1860, working as a mechanic and married to Amelia. He has real estate worth $1000 and personal property worth $2000. An Adaline Moore is living with them.

He's listed on the 1870 Census of Santa Rosa Co. as Henry Sindorph. His birthplace is given as Tennessee on this census. He is a carpenter.

In 1880 he's in Santa Rosa Co., working in a sash factory, whether as an owner or employee is not certain. His nephew, William Sindorf, age 13, is living with them.

The 1885 Florida Census lists Henry as a manufacturer.

Henry and Amelia had at least one child since a grandchild is later living with her. This child doesn't appear on a census. However, a W. M. Sindorf is recorded as dying in 1912 in Mobile Co., Alabama. Since Amelia was from Alabama, perhaps this is the missing child.

Henry married #59187 Amelia L..

Relationship notes

They married.

Other names for Amelia: Amelia L. Sindorf.

Amelia was born 29 Sep 1834 in Henry Co., Alabama. She died 30 Oct 1907 in Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida. She was buried in Bagdad Cemetery, Bagdad, Santa Rosa Co., Florida.

By the 1900 Census she is widowed and living in Pensacola, Escambia Co., Florida. Her grandson, Henry G. Sindorf, is living with her.

I don't find a record for her in the 1910 Census, so she had probably passed away.
