Other names for Mary: Mary Feichter, Mary A. Norton.

Mary was born 5 May 1857 in Thornville, Perry Co., Ohio. She died 18 Mar 1943 in Marion, Marion Co., Ohio. She was buried in Grand Prairie Cemetery, Brush Ridge, Marion Co., Ohio.

Charles and Mary are on the 1880 Census of Pitt, Ohio as Charles & Mary W. Fiester. He is a farmer.

She appears as Mary Norton on the 1900 Census of Pitt.

She appears on the 1910 Census of Salt Rock, Ohio as Mary Parker. The census shows that seven of her eleven children are still alive. We know three of those that passed away: Charles, the succeeding unnamed infant and Franklin. Mary is a professional nurse. Winifred and her husband, Ada, James and Clayta are living with them.

In 1920 they are in Morral, Ohio and both she and James work in a canning factory.

[DiNicola 14-1] notes: "There are many references to Mary Ann Parker, referred to as 'Mrs. James Parker' in the Marion newspaper, apparently, she loved to entertain and was quite the social person. It is fun to read about her social activities. It appears that all of her children kept in touch with each other over the years."

Mary married first #64268 Charles Feichter.

Relationship notes

They married 18 Feb 1902 in Wyandot Co., Ohio.

James was born Abt 1853 in England. He died Bef 1930.

According to the 1910 Census, James was previously married, was naturalized in 1860, and worked as a farm laborer.

James is presumed to have died prior to 1930 as Mary is now shown as the head of household and I don't see James on the census. He has definitely passed away by 1940 when Mary is listed as a widow.
