David was born 13 Feb 1860 in Leechburg, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania. He died 25 Oct 1964 in Longmont, Boulder Co., Colorado from a broken hip sustained in a fall. He was buried in Fairmont Cemetery, Denver, Colorado.
He went to Colorado around 1880 and worked for his uncle, Hugh McElheny, who was a pharmacist. He searched for Aztec Indian relics and thse relics are now on display in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
