Arpad J. Heutchy Jr., 89, of Concordia Lutheran Home, Cabot, Winfield, died Wed (Nov. 28, 2001) in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison.

Born Aug. 8, 1912, in New Kensington, he lived in the city until moving to Cabot several years ago. A 1930 graduate of Arnold High School, he also graduated from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked in the cost time and metal procurement departments of the Wear Ever Division of Alcoa, New Kensington, for 34 years before retiring in 1967. Mr. Heutchy was a 60-year member of First Evangelical Church, where he was organist and choir director from 1963 to 1982, and member and past president of the Kiwanis Club, both in New Kensington; 60-year member of the Lower Burrell Masons, where he was treasurer; 60-year member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and American Guild of Organists, where he was treasurer and on the executive board, both in Pittsburgh; Syria Temple of Harmar, and past president of the American Heart Association of Westmoreland County.

A substitute organist in the Pittsburgh and New Kensington areas since 1982, he also was the organist since 1963 at the Ross G. Walker Funeral Home Ltd., New Kensington, having played at a funeral there Monday.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Wilma Johnson Heutchy; a son, David Arpad Heutchy of Kent, Wash.; a daughter, Alice June McCammon of Apple Valley, Minn.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arpad Julius Sr. and Alice May Geiger Heutchy.

Arpad married #38401 Wilma Marie Augusta Johnson.
