Terry was born 28 Feb 1947 in Boise City, Cimarron Co., Oklahoma. He died 30 Sep 2007 in Boise City, Cimarron Co., Oklahoma. He was buried in Marella Cemetery, Griggs, Cimarron Co., Oklahoma.

Terry Gene Cayton, the son of the late Samuel Robert Cayton and Minnie Lorena (Elliott) Cayton, was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Boise City, Okla. He died Sept. 30, 2007, in Boise City at the age of 60.

Terry was raised in the Griggs, Okla., Community. He attended and graduated from Plainview School in 1965 in the Griggs Community. After high school, Terry attended Panhandle State University, in Goodwell, Okla., where he graduated in 1969.

Terry did his student teaching in Stratford, Texas, and taught in Stratford from 1969 to 1970. Terry taught in Keyes, Okla., from 1971 to 1973. Terry took a break from teaching to help his dad with farming for a few years.

Terry was united in marriage to Lois Lowe, on Feb. 12, 1977, at the First Baptist Church, in Keyes, Okla.. To this union four children were born, Denton, LaTonia, Celeste, and Tyrrell.

Terry went back to teaching in 1980, in Boise City, Okla., as the science teacher, in high school. From 1986 to 1993, he moved from the high school to the elementary school where he was the elementary principal, and taught junior high science. In 1999, Terry quit teaching and went to work for Packard Trucking. While working for Packard Trucking, they built cement highways and helped build the runways at the Denver Airport. In 2002, Terry took a teaching position, in Goodwell, Okla., as a high school math teacher. He taught there until 2003, when he went to work for R.G. Morgan's.

Terry loved to hunt, he enjoyed all aspects of hunting, from coyote hunting, deer hunting to elk hunting. He was also an avid reader, his favorite reading material was westerns, favorite author being Louis Lamour. Terry never met a stranger. He would talk to anyone anywhere. Most of the time he would find out they knew someone that he knew. Terry was a very family orinated man. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. He loved to make everyone laugh. He liked to tell jokes and make others smile.

Terry became a Christian at and early age. He sang in the Boise City Baptist Church Choir. He was a member of the Griggs Church of God and attended the Boise City First Baptist Church. Terry in the past had been on a bowling league in Guymon for a number of years.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Samuel and Minnie Cayton.

Survivors include: his wife, Lois Cayton, of the home, two sons, two daughters, three brothers, one sister, and a host of other relatives and friends.
