He was a graduate from the O.S.U. veterinary school. Robert retired as a colonel from the U.S. Army, having served stateside as well as the Antilles Command, the Berlin Brigade, and the Alaska Command. He served as the Health Commissioner of Newark, Ohio. He was a Paul Harris Fellow of the Newark Rotary Club.
