George was born 1836 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 29 Aug 1863 in Washington, Virginia. He was buried in Alexandria National Cemetery, Alexandria, Virginia.

He died in the Civil War. He was wounded in the left hand and lost two fingers. He then took sick and died four or five days later.
