Lewis was born 12 Jun 1843 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He was baptised 12 Sep 1843 in St. John's Church, Mt. Pleasant, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 18 Jun 1933. He was buried in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
In Aug 1861, he enlisted inthe Union Forces in the Civil War and was discharged in Jun 1865. His arm was wounded while in the service. Around 1882, he moved to Ohio, after having lived several years in Hamilton, Missouri. He was a paper manufacturer.
Lewis married #44893 Martha Evaline Hogsett.
