Etta Gail is the name on her birth record, but she picked out names for herself and was subsequently known as Henrietta Jacquetta Gail, or "Jack". She received a teaching certificate from the Marion, Indiana Normal School, and was a county school teacher around Lusk, Wyoming. She was very active in civic and community affairs, helped raise matching funds for the Lusk Carnegie Library, served on the Library board for several years, was State President of the Wyoming State PTA, served as a Past Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star, helped form and served as First Guardian and Grand Guardian of the Lusk Chapter of Job's Daughters. There is a Gail Browning Memorial PTA Scholarship Fund at the University and a Gail Browning Memorial at her church. Gail was very modest, and did not want publicity for her work.
Her ashes and those of her husband were scattered at the site of the Browning Homestead at Lusk, Niobrara Co., Wyoming.

He is the son of John & Sarah (Moomaw) Browning. His father's middle name is given as Warfield in FindAGrave, but as Charles in Charles' death certificate.
