Not sure if this is the same as #66855. The first name and father's first name match. The other John was working in 1940. This John was a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Force by 1942...entirely possible but not certain.

This John won the Silver Star, the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Purple Heart and the Air Medal. He fought at the Battle of Midway. In 1943 he was listed as missing in action in The Express.
