Michael was born 1808 in Bavaria, Germany. He died 17 Feb 1878. He was buried in Mt. Troy Cemetery, Allegheny Co., Pennsylvania.
He is the son of Lewis & Reichel (Oppenheimer) Osterweiss. He also married Minnie Kant, but I don't know if it was before or after his marriage to Catherine.
The military roles for Westmoreland Co., "Roster of Company I, Eleventh Pennsylvania Volunteers (three years service) - Recruited at Greensburg" show Michael Osterweiss, discharged 22 Dec 1864.
