Douglas was born 1828.

[Baumgarten] lists two Douglas Rosensteel individuals, both born in 1828. One is this individual; the other is his uncle. I have grave doubts this is accurate. Given that Mary married in 1827, my suspicion is that this is the correct one.

There is no explanation for why Douglas' surname differs from his father's.

A note at the end indicates that it was compiled by "K. L.
