#170 Harry Harrison Stouffer ( William Henry StoufferJacob Stouffer )

Other names for Harry: Harry Harrison Stauffer.

Harry was born 30 May 1882 in Derry, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He died 17 Aug 1943 in Derry, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania from acute coronary occlusion. He was buried 20 Aug 1943 in Coles Cemetery, Derry Twp., Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania.

Harry does not appear on the 1900 Census. Sharan Holtz shows him with the same birth month as Jacob--perhaps a twin who died at birth?

On his World War I draft card he lists his occupation as mine foreman. It says he was medium height, stout, and had light hair and gray eyes. His World War II card lists his height at 5'10" and weight at 170 lbs.

On the 1910 Census of Derry, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, he is working in a pottery. Wynona's father, Elias Powers, is living with them.

He appears on the 1920 Census of Bradenville, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania as a coal miner. Wynona's father and a McCloud Powers, perhaps a brother based on age, are living with them.

He appears on the 1930 Census of Derry, Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania. He owns his own home and has a net worth of $3,000. He's working as a brakeman on a steam railroad.

I haven't found Harry on the 1940 Census. There is a Harry Stouffer in Ligonier, but he lists his occupation as coal miner, is married to Anna, and has a son John.

Wynona either died before he did or there was a divorce as he is listed as single on his death certificate. The informant was H. C. Stauffer, presumably his son.

Harry married #62251 Wynona A. Powers.

Marriage notes

They married Abt 1901.

Other names for Wynona: Wynona Stouffer.
