Lewis was born 16 Aug 1849 in Madison Twp., Pickaway Co., Ohio. He died 16 Nov 1928. He was buried in Etna Green Cemetery, Kosciusko Co., Indiana.
In 1870 he and his sister Sophia Kennedy bought his parents' farm which was located in Aboite Twp., Allen Co., Indiana. In 1875 Lewis sold his share of the farm and moved to Whitley Co., Indiana. In 1888 they moved to Etna Twp., Kosciusko Co., Indianawhere Lewis was listed as a farmer in 1900. In 1920 Lewis and Matilda lived in Etna Green, Kosciusko Co., Indiana. Lewis had a heart attack while driving a wagon load of coal and fell from the wagon. This resulted in paralysis which caused his death.
