Stanley was born 17 Jul 1890 in Licking Co., Ohio. He died 29 Apr 1976 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan. He was buried in Silent Home Cemetery, Truro Twp., Franklin Co., Ohio.

He served in World War I in 158 Depot Brigade from 27 Apr 1918 to 2 May 1918; Co G 332 Inf until discharge; he became Pvt 1st Class 10 Aug 1918. He served at Bittorio-Veneto, AEF from 8 Jun 1918 to 15 Apr 1919. He received an honorable discharge on 3 May 1919. Stanley farmed the home place with his mother until the farm was sold. He was a salesman of farm machinery in western Ohio. He later moved to Detroit, Michigan where he was in the house siding business.
