Lefty was born 28 Feb 1898 in Licking Co., Ohio. He died 20 Aug 1975 in Florida.

From 16 Oct 1918 to 12 Dec 1918 he served in the Students' Army Training Program, Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio until he was discharge as a private. He graduated from Ohio State and played major league baseball for the Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox from 1922-1933. When Babe Ruth hit 60 home runs in 1928, two of them were pitched by Lefty.

Samantha was born 26 Jun 1902. She died 29 Apr 1959 in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.
