Hamon was born 14 Jun 1843 in Stark Co., Ohio. He died 10 Jul 1924 in Tyrone, Missouri.
He served in the Civil War twice. After the war he lived in Indiana, Michigan, Arkansas, Oklahoma and later in Shannon, Howell, and Texas counties in Missouri. In the 1880 Census, he is in Goldtry, Oklahoma. He was a carpenter and well driller.

Miriam was born Abt 1842 in Ohio. She died Bef 1889 in Shannon Co., Missouri from gunshot wound.
She is the daughter of Jacob & Margaret Joh.
She was previously married to Robert Wallard and had two daughters, Florinda and Martha. She was then married to Mr. Shoemaker and had Margaret, Annie, Esta and Edwin.
Haman and Miriam were on their way to Missouri with a team and wagon. They stopped to camp for the night. Miriam was sitting by the fire, picking a prairie chicken that Hamon had killed on the trail. Hamon was unloading the wagon. He picked up the gun and the trigger caught on a tie on a comfort and the gun discharged, hitting Miriam and killing her instantly. Hamon almost lost his mind after this terrible accident.
