Dale was born 4 Aug 1926 in Liberty Twp., Fairfield Co., Ohio. He died 15 Sep 1998 in Sun City West, Arizona from leukemia. He was buried in Ashton, Illinois.

He was born on the Andregg farm. He graduated in 1951 from Ohio State University with a degree in Veterinary Medicine. He was Stephenson Co. Veterinarian from 1964 through 1917, bringing the county certified free status for Brucellosis and Tuberculosis in cattle. He opened Southland Veterinary Clinic, the first small animal practice in Freeport, Illinois. Before retiring he worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota. He was an American Veterinary Medical Association Honor Roll member for 40 years of service to his profession.
