Youth Dies After Fall From Tree

Carey DeMasters, 16-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Garnet DeMasters, two-and-one-half miles east of Holden, died at 11 o'clock Tuesday night, four hours after falling fifteen feet to the ground when the limb of the tree on which he was sitting broke. He was playing in the tree with some younger children at the time.

Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church at Holden at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon by the Rev. George Whitthaus. Interment will be in the Holden cemetery. The pallbearers and flower girls were classmates of the boy who would have graduated from high school at Holden next year.
