Cloyd was born 12 Apr 1875 in Middleburg, Snyder Co., Pennsylvania. He died 6 Jun 1952 in Kelly Twp., Union Co., Pennsylvania. He was buried in Lewisburg Cemetery, Union Co., Pennsylvania.

In 1903 he graduated from Bucknell Academy in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, then took up the study of law. Two years later he was admitted to the Bar. He was District Attorney from 1908 to 1916 and County Solicitor from 1916 to 1922 in Union Co., Pennsylvania. He also taught law at Bucknell University.

Cloyd married #42175 Minnie Angstagt.

Minnie was born 1867. She died 1959. She was buried in Lewisburg Cemetery, Union Co., Pennsylvania.
