Miss Martha Agnes Varnum, aged 79, died at the residence of her brother, George Varnum, 241 West Brady Street yesterday following a short illness.

Miss Varnum was born in North Washington and spent the early part of her life there. Her later years were spent in Pittsburgh.

She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Pittsburgh.

She leaves three sisters, Mrs. E. H. Browne and Mrs. J. N. Williamson of Pittsburgh and Mrs. C. E. Cherry of Great Neck, L. I., and a brother, George Varnum at whose home she died.

The body was removed to the Harvey J. Geibel Home for Funerals, 201 East Cunningham Street, where friends will be received between the hours of ?? and 9 o'clock tonight.

Funeral services will be held from the Harvey J. Geibel Home for Funerals at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon with the Rev. Oscar H. Stitt, pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill cemetery.
